Tell Congress:
"We demand that a future COVID-19 vaccine be made available to everyone, regardless of ability to pay."

John,
Donald Trump has completely mismanaged the COVID-19 pandemic, and now he is abusing the chaos. He’s trying to sneak through a scheme to defund and destroy Social Security, but he’s also working to ensure that COVID is a windfall for his Big Pharma buddies.
We are not going to let that happen.
ADD YOUR NAME: demand an affordable COVID-19 vaccine be available to EVERYONE.
Earlier this year, when Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar was asked during a congressional hearing whether the government could assure that a coronavirus vaccine would be available and affordable to all Americans, he stated plainly that it could not.
When the FDA commissioner was asked about the government’s plan to distribute a vaccine, he said the cost of a vaccine is not the FDA’s responsibility.
Donald Trump and his cronies plan on allowing pharmaceutical companies to use their monopoly power to charge high prices for a vaccine, once it is developed.
Congress must immediately pass the Make Medication Affordable by Preventing Pandemic Price Gouging Act (H.R. 7296) and the Taxpayer Research and Coronavirus Knowledge Act (H.R. 7288) to:
-
prohibit monopolies on new, taxpayer-funded COVID-19 drugs;
-
require the federal government to mandate reasonable, affordable pricing of any new, taxpayer-funded COVID-19 drug;
-
and ensure taxpayers know how much and the terms under which they are paying to help drug corporations develop COVID-19 treatments.
Add your name! Demand equal access to an affordable COVID-19 vaccine. We can't let Trump use the pandemic as an excuse to enrich his Big Pharma buddies.
Together, we are going to send a clear message to Congress: Any and all vaccines and treatments for COVID-19 developed by drug corporations using taxpayer money must be accessible and affordable to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Period.
Thank you for all you do to fight to expand, never cut, Social Security and to ensure politicians are fighting for the priorities of working people and seniors throughout our country.
