On January 6th, 2021, I stood inside the United States Capitol while a violent mob tried to tear our democracy apart.

I didn't back down then, and I'm not backing down now.

But the threat to our democracy didn't start or end that day.

In 2010, the Supreme Court ruled that corporations have the same free speech rights as people — which means they can spend unlimited money to influence elections.

That opened the floodgates to super PACs and dark money groups. And they've been wide open ever since.

Dark money donors are already flooding this race to boost my opponents and drown out the voices of everyday Marylanders.
