Gonzalez op-ed: Reform China's unfair WTO practices Anthony and Rep. LaHood, both members of the House Republican China Task Force, co-authored an op-ed highlighting the ways China abuses the rules of the World Trade Organization to its economic advantage and what reforms ought to be taken. "For far too long," Gonzalez and LaHood write, "China has taken advantage of international trade laws, harming American workers, technology, and businesses — as well as the global economy." Canceling Big Ten football season would be ‘devastating’ It looks like Big Ten football will be delayed until the spring and there is ongoing debate about whether to cancel the season entirely. Anthony, who played football for OSU and in the NFL, spoke about the Big Ten's decision: “That experience [playing football] is so valuable. And to take it from them when, from what I can see, the players want to play, the coaches want to coach, and the players’ parents want the players to play—to not even give them the option, I think, is devastating.” Gonzalez urges clearer guidance for schools reopening amid pandemic Anthony, along with fellow Ohio Reps. Latta and Johnson, "urged the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to arm schools and families with the tools and information they need to effectively return children to the classroom. Anthony said, "While the benefits of in-person instruction are undeniable, many teachers, students, and parents are rightfully concerned about how schools will reopen safely this fall."
Coronavirus update As Ohio reopens and recovers from the pandemic, the coronavirus will remain for some time, even as life starts to feel normal again. It's important that we each do our part to minimize the risk of a resurgence of the virus. Anthony recommends that everyone stay up-to-date with the latest information from the Ohio Department of Health website.
The general election is fast approaching and Anthony is running to continue serving the people of Northeast Ohio. Please consider chipping in, if you can, to support positive change for Ohio's 16th District.
