While Democrats are leading by example with our fully virtual Democratic National Convention – putting Americans’ health and safety above petty political optics – Trump is holding an in-person event in Oshkosh.
We’ve seen this before in Tulsa, where Trump’s ill-advised rally led to a surge in COVID-19 cases and the deaths of some of his supporters.Once again, Trump is demonstrating the worst possible judgement – but this time he’s putting Wisconsin lives in danger.
As we kick off our convention next week, Democrats remain committed to protecting the health and safety of everyone involved with the convention.
Meanwhile, Trump openly admitted that he ordered officials to “slow the testing down,” blatantly putting his political interests ahead of the health and economic wellbeing of Americans.
It’s clear Trump’s event in Oshkosh is a desperate ploy to distract voters from his disastrous handling of the COVID-19 pandemic – but we’re not fooled.
