I hear some version of the same thing everywhere I go in Southwest Washington: Things don’t last like they used to.
A washing machine breaks after a few years. A tractor needs a simple fix, but the software is locked down. Groceries cost more, and somehow there’s less in the package. A phone repair costs almost as much as replacing the phone.
They're taking money from people who work hard, small businesses, farmers, and everyone trying to make what we own last a little longer.
I’ve been working on this in Congress because I believe in something pretty simple: when you buy something, you should be able to fix it.
You should know how long a major appliance is expected to last.
And corporations shouldn’t be able to hide price hikes behind smaller packages or deceptive labels.
But I need to hear directly from you.

I came to Congress from the auto shop, and I know what it means when something breaks and the fix is harder or more expensive than it needs to be.
Your answers help guide what I fight for next.
Thanks for taking the time,
Marie
