Activities to End the Year Looking for ways to help students reflect on the past year? Ways to deal with spring fever? Activities and games to celebrate the community you've built over the past months? Here are some activities you might consider to close out the school year and prepare students to transition into the summer and the year to come. What We're Reading Building Bridges to Support Grade-Level Transitions "It’s important to honor and reflect on the growth and bonds that students have made during the present school year, and to simultaneously prepare for the next school year and future experiences." By Laura Wheeler at Edutopia What is your child learning at school? NYC launches new tool to track literacy lessons "A new tool quietly launched by New York City’s Education Department gives families and the broader public a window into the topics students are learning about in English language arts classes at any given time. It also serves up free digital books connected to the specific unit students are learning about." By Alex Zimmerman at Chalkbeat “Unless we know ourselves and our history, and other people and their history, there is really no way that we can really have positive kinds of interaction where there is real understanding.” —Yuri Kochiyama Donate Shop Website   Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility www.morningsidecenter.org   Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility | 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 550 | New York, NY 10115 US Unsubscribe | Update Profile | Constant Contact Data Notice
