In every election that has bent toward justice in this country, women have
been the margin that made it bend. We are not a constituency to be
courted. We are the people who decide.

And when elections go the other way, women pay for it — in abortion bans
and gutted food assistance, in stolen Medicaid and mothers separated from
their children at the border, in the trans women who are killed because
someone in power gave permission. Men wage these wars, and women carry the
bodies home.

That is why voting is a feminist fight. Not because we want a seat at the
table, but because we are the ones holding the table up. Attacks on the
Black vote are a load-bearing piece of MAGA's plan, and the rest of us are
next.
