Mandatory paid time off from work to go vote. Expanded voting hours. Online voter registration. These are just a few of the changes people in New York can expect in upcoming elections. Thanks to a recently approved Board of Elections proposal pushing these key democracy reforms, it will be easier than ever for people across the state to register to vote and make their voices heard in elections. #PeopleLikeUs need to hold public servants in all states accountable for passing these kinds of changes to transform our democracy so everyone has the right and ability to make their voices heard on Election Day!

Despite repeated calls from security experts and lawmakers, our electoral system remains as vulnerable as ever to interference. Due to political inaction, the 2020 election remains at risk from both domestic and foreign influencers like we saw in the 2016 election. #PeopleLikeUs are the ones who should decide the outcome of our elections -- no one else. That's why we must take a stand today and demand that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell bring election security measures to a vote and protect our democracy! Sign our petition now to ensure your voice is heard and our elections remain fair, safe, and secure.

Although we can't all be members of The Squad, we can support the next wave of Boss Ladies -- badass women running campaigns and changing the face of political leadership. And starting in September, that's exactly what we'll be doing in partnership with IGNITE through our new training series. These immersive one-day events are focused on preparing young women of color to serve as campaign staff on races across the country. We'll be kicking off our first training on September 28th in Seattle, so be sure to learn more and keep an eye out for future opportunities for you or someone you know to participate.

Help fight systemic white supremacy by supporting our mission to get more women, immigrants, and underrepresented Americans on the ballot and into power. |
Every week, we deliver one key positive story to warm your heart, a negative story to keep you vigilant, and an action you can take to help build a more progressive, representative democracy. |
