Today, we are proud to endorse Thien Ho for Congress in California’s 6th District.
Thien is a 25-year veteran prosecutor and the current Sacramento County District Attorney. Since being elected DA in 2022, he has been on the front lines prosecuting violent criminals, tackling the fentanyl crisis, and tirelessly standing up for victims.
Thien is running against Congressman Kevin Kiley, who recently switched his party from Republican to Independent in a desperate attempt to save his own hide.
While this is a D+5 seat, approximately 30% of the new CA-06 overlaps with Kiley’s former district, giving him high name recognition.
This race is winnable, but only if we send the right candidate to November. Thien Ho is that candidate. With a proven record of public service, deep local roots, and early fundraising momentum, he is the best choice to defeat Kevin Kiley.
The Blue Dogs prove that Democrats can win anywhere — including rural and working-class districts that the establishment often writes off.
Last election, our candidates outperformed the top of the ticket by 4%. Our brand of pragmatic, local leadership works, but we need the resources to stay on the air and on the ground.
