John,

This message comes to you from the Alabama Democratic Party and the Louisiana Democratic Party. We're writing together because we're facing the same fightand we're not going at it alone.

The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act last week. Within days, MAGA Extremists in both our states jumped at the chance to cancel democracy.

And to say "cancel democracy" isn't some overstatement. It's literally true in our case:

In Alabama, Governor Kay Ivey caved to extremist pressure and called a special session to redraw congressional maps and eliminate Black representation. They're trying to gerrymander Democrats Terri Sewell and Shomari Figures out of Congress, and are discussing annulling their coming May 19th election results so MAGA can have a do over.

In Louisiana, Republicans are doing the exact same thing. The Supreme Court literally struck down Louisiana's second Black-majority district in the ruling that started this whole nightmare. And, to make matters worse, they CANCELLED the congressional election where voting had already started!

This is coordinated. This is deliberate. And this is happening across the entire South.

MAGA extremists see an opening, and they're taking it. They've spent years rigging the courts, packing the Supreme Court with justices who would gut civil rights protections, and waiting for this exact moment.
Now they're moving state by state to erase the progress we've fought for since Selma.

But here's what they aren't counting on: We're fighting back.
TOGETHER.

The Southern Dem Solidarity Fund, a newly founded joint initiative, splits your contribution between the Alabama Democratic Party and the Louisiana Democratic Party. Chip in $20 right now to help both our states fight back against MAGA's coordinated assault on voting rights.

Democrats can't afford to hide in our respective corners. We can't fight this state by state while MAGA coordinates nationally. We need to join arm in arm and march forward toward true progress — together.

Louisiana Democrats are organizing to defend Black representation and turn out every voter Republicans are trying to suppress. Alabama Democrats are doing the same. Your contribution today supports both fights simultaneously.

Because what happens in Louisiana affects Alabama. What happens in Alabama affects Louisiana. When they gerrymander one Southern state, they embolden attacks in every other state. When they silence Black voters in one place, they're testing the playbook they'll use everywhere.

But when we fight back together? When Southern Democrats stand united and refuse to let them pick us off one by one? That's how we win.

Your $20 splits evenly between the Alabama Democratic Party and the Louisiana Democratic Party. It funds legal challenges to racist maps in both states. It pays for organizing in communities they're trying to suppress. It builds the infrastructure to turn out voters and prove that no matter how they draw the lines, they can't silence our voices.

This is bigger than one state. This is about whether the South — the birthplace of the civil rights movement, the place where people bled and died for the right to vote — will let MAGA extremists turn back the clock on everything we've achieved.

We're not letting that happen. Not in Louisiana. Not in Alabama. Not anywhere.

The MAGA playbook is to divide us, isolate us, and defeat us one state at a time. Our answer is solidarity. Our answer is organizing together, fighting together, and winning together.

Join the Southern Dem Solidarity Fund. Split your $20 contribution between Louisiana and Alabama Democrats and help us kick these MAGA extremist cowards out.

From the bayous of Louisiana to the streets of Selma, the South has always been at the forefront of the fight for democracy. We're not backing down now.

Let's show them what Southern solidarity looks like.
