Last week, the Supreme Court made the decision to gut the Voting Rights Act (VRA) – a landmark civil rights measure that enshrines equal opportunities for underrepresented groups to ensure they have a voice in our democracy.

To say that I am absolutely appalled by this decision is an understatement.

We're watching in real time as this administration undermines the trailblazing and morally necessary work of the civil rights heroes who risked everything to guarantee equal representation for us all. And it's just the latest in a long line of attacks against hardworking Americans and our communities. 

We know that this ruling will have a ripple effect across our nation, John – it will allow Republicans to slash even more key provisions of the VRA and silence the voices of Black and other underrepresented communities.

But I'm not giving up and neither should you. Now more than ever, we need to come together to oppose these dangerous rollbacks, vote in record numbers to defy new GOP gerrymandered districts, and elect leaders who will fight back – and yes, that includes helping me win reelection in PA-06.
