Trekking Along
Conservation Corps Continue This Summer

Year after year, your donations to the Glacier Conservancy support a special partnership between Glacier National Park and the Montana Conservation Corps (MCC). Participants in conservation corps support critical preservation initiatives in the park, while translating their knowledge and passion for the environment into valuable work experience that provides lasting benefit to Glacier for years to come.

Even though operations have been modified and scaled back due to COVID-19, a limited number of crews are still hard at work in the park this summer.

Clean, Drain & Dry!
A concern we must all address is the spread of harmful aquatic invasive species (AIS). These non-native species can hitch a ride on any equipment and can severely harm native aquatic ecosystems, as well as negatively impact visitor use and enjoyment of park waterways. Your support continues to fund numerous watercraft inspection stations throughout the park. Between June 1-July 26 this summer, AIS crews have inspected 4,300 non-motorized boats and issued 2,236 permits.

Be Idle Free
The park is reminding everyone in Glacier to "Be idle free, turn the key.” The Glacier Conservancy is proud to have funded the design and printing of the sticker above depicting cartoon mountain goats traveling in a red vehicle. The stickers are free to visitors and will be available from park rangers outside the Apgar and Logan Pass Visitor Centers and in the Rising Sun area. The logo will also be used in park messaging to remind employees and visitors to shut off their vehicles while parked and waiting in the park.
