Dear John,

Bear cubs and coyote pups are being killed in their dens. Wolves are being
gunned down from helicopters. But now, thanks to advocacy from Friends of the
Earth, members of Congress are standing up, and have issued a new call to end
these horrific practices. Our pressure is working! Help us save the wolves, bears, and caribou with a $10 donation to Friends of
the Earth

It’s been called “The Extinction Plan,” and for good reason. This plan
green-lights barbaric and cruel hunting practices, undoing critical Endangered
Species protections, and handing over key wildlife habitats and public lands to
Big Oil. All of this is a direct threat to some of America’s most iconic species
and landscapes.

Thanks to these rollbacks of common-sense wildlife protections, trophy hunters
in Alaska’s nature preserves are now using these once-illegal practices with
impunity:

* Shooting hibernating mother bears and cubs in their dens
* Using motorboats to shoot swimming caribou
* Using bacon grease and doughnuts to bait bears
* Killing wolf pups in their dens
* Targeting animals from airplanes, helicopters, and snowmobiles

America’s wildlife and public lands need your help! Can you chip in $10 to
Friends of the Earth right now?

[[link removed]]These so-called “hunting practices” are cruel and reprehensible -- they were
banned for good reason. Even worse, they are happening in nature preserves, the
very places intended as refuges for America’s iconic species like bears, wolves,
and caribou.

These inhumane practices have historically had widespread and bipartisan
opposition -- but the Oil Lobby is spending huge money to block progress. Big
Oil's plan is to weaken the Endangered Species Act enough to clear the way for
massive fossil fuel projects.

We aren’t letting that happen. Thanks to effective advocacy work from Friends of
the Earth and members like you, we’re already forcing a change. Last month,
dozens of members of Congress spoke out in a Dear Colleague letter, vigorously
opposing the rollbacks of hunting regulations. This only happened after over
9,000 Friends of the Earth members like you reached out to their representatives
to build support for just such a letter.

Our advocacy is working, but we need to keep up the pressure now -- while we
have momentum. Help protect our iconic species with a $10 donation to Friends of
the Earth.

[[link removed]]Our voices are being heard in this fight -- and it’s thanks to thousands of
Friends of the Earth members like you who continue to reach out, take action,
and support this work.

Endangered species laws provide critical protection for America’s iconic animal
species. But their importance doesn’t stop there. These laws are also some of
our most effective safeguards in the fight to protect our public lands from Big
Oil and curb catastrophic climate change. For the sake of our wildlife, for the
sake of our planet, we can’t let the keys of our public lands be handed over to
the fossil fuel industry.

Friends of the Earth is working at all levels to educate our congressional
members on the implications of these rollbacks, and fight for crucial
protections like The PAW and FIN Conservation Act, which would put a stop to
these attacks and win permanent protection for our wildlife and public lands.
With increasingly vocal congressional support, we now have a new chance to go on
offense, and undo the damage done to the Endangered Species Act. Today, we need
members like you to have our back, help us cross the finish line, and win the
protections we’ve been fighting for.

Help us win permanent protection for our public lands and the wolves, bears, and
other species that call these lands home.
