Today, I want to talk to you about the political landscape of our race and the nitty-gritty of what we have to get done before November to get out the vote and keep Lizzie in Congress:

Let's start with the good news: Polls and reports show Democrats are building momentum in Texas and have a shot at turning the state blue this November. And our result in 2018 -- winning TX07 -- shows it's possible!

But here's the other news: Our win in 2018 has made our race in 2020 one of the most competitive House races in the entire country. Experts say whoever wins in TX-07 could indicate which party will win the House majority.

Our opponent, Washington Republicans, and outside groups are investing heavily in our race. They've made Lizzie one of their top targets and have already spent a combined $8 million to unseat her. Our opponent has the support of President Trump, the NRCC, Ted Cruz, and groups like the anti-choice Susan B. Anthony List and a Koch-affiliated super PAC.

All of that means we need to run a flawless campaign at a time when campaigns are changing dramatically in response to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, we need serious resources to run TV and digital ads, organize and run phonebanking and textbanking sessions, host virtual events, and get out the vote in unprecedented circumstances.

You play a crucial role in all of this -- we need you with us every step of the way so we can execute our strategy before November and keep Lizzie in Congress.
