Folks,
Congressman Harris is full of surprises.
For example, as a doctor, you might think he would do everything in his power to make sure Marylanders have access to good, affordable healthcare… right?
Well, you’d be wrong! He voted to cut $800 billion in Medicaid — which would take away coverage from over 130,000 people in Maryland and devastate rural medical centers.
Congressman Harris is a Navy Reserve veteran. You’d think he’d be looking out for fellow veterans… right!?
Wrong, again! He voted against the PACT Act, which expanded Veterans Affairs benefits to veterans exposed to deadly chemicals during their military service. He even voted against the Never Forget Heroes Act, which gives healthcare to 9/11 first responders!
Congressman Harris co-chairs the bipartisan Bay Watershed Task Force, so clearly he supports cleaning up the Bay… right!?!?
Nope. He voted against the appropriations bill that would have given $93 million to keep the Bay safe and clean. When Congress voted for the largest federal conservation investment in history, Congressman Harris voted NO. In fact, he has a lifetime score of 2% from the League of Conservation Voters.
You’d think he has Maryland’s priorities in mind…
But you’d be surprised.
