John, here’s the brutal truth: 

We needed to raise $500,000 from grassroots Democrats before yesterday’s mid-FEC deadline to keep up with the Republican attacks on our Democratic Senate candidates — but our finance team is saying we fell short by exactly $61,354. 

This is tough news to swallow, especially since Mitch McConnell’s super PAC network is unloading their entire $100 million warchest against Democrats like Cal Cunningham and Sara Gideon.  

So, we’re extending the deadline internally in the hopes we can catch up in the next 48 hours. If we can close at least some of this fundraising gap before Sunday at midnight, we might not have to cut our budget.
