Today, I'd like to talk about Iowa (and not the upcoming caucus). Instead, I want to tell you about Theresa Greenfield and how, with our help, she could flip an Iowa Senate seat in 2020 -- and bring us one step closer to turning the Senate blue.

Theresa is running against Republican Joni Ernst, the junior senator from Iowa who's voted in lockstep with Leader McConnell and President Trump throughout her time in Washington. She voted for the disastrous GOP tax cuts of 2017 and to repeal the Affordable Care Act (multiple times!), and backed Trump's inhumane immigration policies and hard-right judicial nominees every chance she could.

The people of Iowa deserve better. And I believe Theresa has what it takes to flip Ernst's seat and help the Senate resist Trump's hateful agenda -- if we support her now, before Friday's end-of-month deadline.

The time is right to have a Democrat represent Iowa in the Senate. Trump's tumultuous trade war with China is making life even more difficult for farmers in Iowa, who were already contending with the effects of widespread flooding this year. Ernst has failed them.

Theresa grew up on a farm herself -- and the farm crisis of the '80s hit her family hard. She knows the issues facing so many Iowans today firsthand, and she'll be the one fighting hard to rebuild the middle class and stop Trump's tariffs from strangling our economy.
