PFAW Member,
Civil Rights heroes like John Lewis fought hard for decades to protect and expand rights for Black people, immigrants, and other communities that have historically been marginalized. And yet, Republicans like Mitch McConnell have shamefully continued their attacks on voting rights nationwide.
We cannot continue to let Republican officials get away with decades of racist attacks on our access to the ballot box. It is up to us to use our grief to fulfill John Lewis’ legacy and get the John Lewis Voting Rights Act passed to restore voting rights taken away in 2013.

The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act would restore and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965, including the provisions that were gutted by the Roberts Court in its disastrous 5-4 Shelby County ruling in 2013.
Since that ruling, Republicans around the country have waged a continuing assault on voting rights, enacting often-racist policies that make it increasingly difficult to vote: by restricting voting hours, purging countless eligible voters from the rolls, closing polling locations, and, more recently, opposing attempts to expand voting by mail to allow more people to vote safely and securely from home amid the pandemic.
With so many growing threats to the right to vote (including the more recent attempt to undermine the postal service), it’s up to Americans who care deeply about justice, equality, and DEMOCRACY, to stand up and fight for that most sacred right.
Join the countless people across the country calling on Senate Republicans to hold a vote on the John Lewis Voting Rights Act – our right to vote can’t wait! >>
The House of Representatives has already passed the legislation; it’s time for the Senate to follow suit. We must put pressure on Mitch McConnell to do his job and bring this historic legislation to a full vote in the Senate to restore voting rights nationwide.

Radical Right extremists are trying to turn back the clock on a century of advances in civil rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, the social safety net and more… With Donald Trump in the White House, they’re waging an all-out assault on the fundamental pillars of our country – democracy, checks and balances, a fair and independent judicial branch, and core values like fairness, equality, and justice for all.
