Beto was at Austin Community College and San Antonio College this week.

Two schools full of people who are working hard, carrying so much, and
still finding a way forward.

Students coming to class after a shift. Moms raising kids, holding down
jobs, doing homework late at night, trying to create a better life for
their families.

When you’re working, studying, parenting, and doing everything you can to
get by, politics can feel like a luxury. But being politically involved is
how we ultimately change the conditions that make life so hard for working
Texans in the first place.

It’s how we raise the minimum wage. It’s how we fund our schools. It’s how
we make health care and child care affordable. It’s how we elect leaders
who understand what life is like for the people they represent.

That’s why Powered by People is showing up at community colleges. We’re
going to the schools where students take night classes after work. Where
single parents study between shifts. Where people are living close to the
edge and still betting on themselves.

We engage with them, listen to them and help them register or update their
registration. We also personally stay in touch with each new voter until
they vote. It’s a lot of work, but it works.
