I want to share some updates with you from Congress and across our nation. Here are three things you need to know:

1. Senator Kamala Harris will be Joe Biden’s running mate in the November election. Her candidacy represents milestones for women, African Americans, and South Asians. More importantly than her gender or ethnicity, I know Senator Harris to be an intelligent and determined champion for progress. I extend my congratulations to my fellow member of the Congressional Black Caucus and look forward to working together on the campaign trail.

2. Now that the legislative session has ended, I have returned home to Georgia. Upon speaking with many of you, in person and virtually, I am witnessing firsthand the need for the Senate and White House to work with the House to pass the Heroes Act and provide relief to laid-off workers, hospitals, schools, small businesses, and our state and local governments. Our communities are in need and this obstructionism must end.

3. My reelection campaign is now accepting contributions through ActBlue, making it quicker and easier than ever to donate.
