Yesterday, I sat across from Secretary Pete Hegseth and looked him dead in the eyes.

I demanded answers about why we are conducting a war in Iran that Congress and the American people never approved.

What I got back was the same arrogance and carelessness that have defined his tenure from day one. Hegseth has no business commanding the most powerful military in the world.

Pete Hegseth sat before the Senate yesterday and couldn’t justify why he and Donald Trump were bombing civilians, spending $25 billion, and putting troops in danger. He showed no remorse or accountability and has no understanding of what this job demands.

But here’s the truth: as long as Republicans control the Senate, people like Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump face zero consequences. There’s no accountability, no checks, nothing. But that changes the moment we flip the Senate.
