This week, President Trump skipped out on climate talks at the G-7 summit of world leaders for the second year in a row.
And yesterday, his administration finalized a proposal to eliminate crucial limits on oil and gas industry emissions of methane — a powerful greenhouse gas that is over 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide in the first 20 years after it’s released.

But we don’t have to let Trump's failure to lead be the last word on American climate action … and with your help, we won’t.

“I am very optimistic about American society and its capacity to deliver in relation to climate action. What matters here is to have a strong engagement of the American society and of the American business community and the American local authorities.”

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Trump’s absence from G-7 climate talks

More than 5,000 EDF members have made online contributions this summer to help slash climate pollution by working with state governments and businesses to stand up for the bold climate action the whole world is counting on us to deliver.

It’s not too late to stand with them and earn a $1-for-$1 match on any size gift made before tonight’s midnight deadline.

Since Trump’s first day in office, we’ve known an attack was coming on the Obama-era federal methane regulations Trump is now trying to eliminate.

Over the past two years, we’ve successfully pushed oil and gas companies like BP, Shell and ExxonMobil to publicly come out in support of this crucial climate protection.

We also partnered with Google Earth to equip their iconic StreetView cars with methane detectors in multiple cities across America, empowering local officials to pinpoint and prioritize repairs for dangerous underground methane leaks.

And we’ve supplied expert and grassroots support to state officials in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Ohio and California as they lead the way with their own state-level regulations.

Your donation before midnight tonight will be doubled in value to counter President Trump’s disgraceful inaction at the federal level with bold climate solutions in the states and the private sector.

Thank you for standing and delivering on climate action with us,
