Here’s what happened:

NYT Headline: Florida House Approves New Congressional Map in Party-Line Vote. The new map could give Republicans as many as four new seats in the state's twenty-eight-member delegation, which already has twenty Republicans.

These four Democrats were chosen by their constituents to represent them in Congress — and now Florida Republicans are trying to gerrymander them out of their seats to try and keep Congress a rubber stamp for Trump.

Republicans know that with fair maps in place, they have no shot at keeping their razor-thin majority in the House, so they’re trying to rig the odds by creating more Republican seats.

We have a message for Republicans: This is a game you don’t want to play. In Virginia and California, we’ve already redrawn the maps to counter Republican gerrymandering — and more states are on the way.

We are done allowing Republicans to change the rules for their own benefit. We’re using every tool at our disposal to ensure that, come November, we elect a Democratic Congress that will fight for the interests of Americans like you — not Trump and his billionaire buddies.
