Over the past year, I’ve been proud to advance initiatives centered on our community in Council, including hosting the first City Council LGBTQ+ health fair during National LGBTQ+ Health Awareness week, convening LGBTQ+ small business leaders to better understand and support their needs and launching an open call for local LGBTQ+ artists from across the city to be featured in a Pride exhibit at historic city hall as part of America’s 250th anniversary. And soon, my office will convene the first ever LGBTQ+ health hearing examining disparities in health care coverage and access facing our community, especially in the wake of federal cuts.
This year’s Pride Kick-Off is also especially meaningful, it will be my last before I begin my re-election campaign. If you’ve supported what I’ve been doing in City Council – whether that’s pushing through the landmark ICE OUT package with Minority Leader Kendra Brooks, updating our Fair Chance Hiring laws to give more Philadelphians a chance at meaningful work, or expanding access for restaurateurs to access outdoor dining options – I hope you’ll consider making a contribution toward this fundraiser.
Your support helps sustain these initiatives and ensures our community continues to have a strong voice in City Hall.
