WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK

Americans know our electoral process is a sacred privilege. Yet, so many
loopholes exist in our election laws which leave plenty of room for
abuses of our voting system come election day. That's why we're seeing
election fraud across the country play out in real time - mass mail
failures, bogus voter registrations which lead to bogus votes, process
subversion, disallowing citizen participation, outside intervention...
It's outright chaos.

We are taking the most sacred franchise offered to an American - the
right to a free and fair vote of their voice, their will, for their
government - and throwing every monkey wrench that we can grab into
this process. It defies logic. It makes one question motive. More than
anything, it underscores the need for citizens to wake up and engage.
This runaway train is not going to stop itself.

As we approach early voting and Election Day this November, we the
people have to educate and prepare ourselves to protect our ballot box
in this election cycle, or we will risk losing it forever. What is the
one thing that can change the dynamic?

It is citizen engagement.

Here are three things you can do to get in the fight....

1. Empowering Citizens

There is a huge need for more information on how citizens can get
involved in local elections, but not all counties have the same
processes. It can be challenging to figure out how to serve. True the
Vote is crowdsourcing local information about how to become an election
worker through the Call Your County project. As information comes in, we
validate and post it online in a shareable format to make it easier for
citizens to get involved in their local election process.

2. Launching New Online Training Resources

True the Vote is launching new training programs through our Knowledge
Network to equip citizens to serve as election workers and to expose and

3. Recruiting & Enrolling

The 2020 general election is in 81 days. Through Mobilize a Million,
True the Vote is actively working to recruit and enroll citizens to
serve at the polls during early voting and on Election Day. Election
worker positions include: presiding and alternate judges who manage the
poll books and issue ballots; election clerks and greeters who assist
the judges; early voting ballot board members; signature verification
committee members; and central counting station personnel.
