Dear Friend,

Today is Spay Day.

Right now, our veterinary team is preparing to perform 200 feral cat spay and neuter surgeries in a single day—a powerful step toward interrupting the cycle of pet overpopulation and euthanasia in Chicago.

The most effective way to prevent the suffering of homeless animals is simple:

Spay/neuter.

But we rely on compassionate supporters like you to make this lifesaving work possible.

Right now, every gift you give will be doubled thanks to a $10,000 Matching Gift Challenge in honor of Paige Bentley.

** One more surgery day—every week
------------------------------------------------------------

A Spay Day Marathon like today helps us tackle the crisis head-on.

But the real solution is sustained prevention.

Our Lurie Clinic is the only high-volume, free and low-cost clinic in the city. Your donation not only supports today’s Marathon but will help fund a sixth day of spay/neuter surgery at the clinic every week beginning this summer. That additional day will enable our medical team to perform more than 24,000 free and low-cost procedures this year—a massive step toward reducing pet overpopulation and preventing animals from entering overcrowded shelters.

A single day matters. But a sixth day every week saves lives all year long.

Without spay and neuter, the cycle continues:

More litters.

More animals struggling outside.

More pets entering already overcrowded shelters.

And more lives ended far too soon.

But a sixth day of spay/neuter surgeries each week will prevent thousands of homeless, unwanted and at-risk pets from reproducing. We’ll break the cycle before it starts.

Your gift right now makes all the difference. And a $10,000 Matching Gift Challenge in honor of Paige Bentley means every dollar you give will go twice as far to help make this lifesaving possible.

Our veterinary team is already at work.

Please give now to help us with today’s Spay Day and to support a sixth surgery day every week.

P.S. Spay and neuter is the single most effective way to reduce animal suffering and overcrowding. Your gift, doubled thanks to our $10,000 Matching Gift Challenge in honor of Paige Bentley, will help fund 200 surgeries today—and more than 24,000 procedures every year.
