Trump just gave the green light to his oil cronies to drill in the Gulf of Mexico—delivering a death blow to one of the rarest whale species on Earth.

What happens next won’t stay in the Gulf, this could weaken wildlife protections everywhere and put entire ecosystems at risk.

But the Senate committee overseeing this decision can still halt this dangerous rollback.

We need as many people as possible to speak out now and give them the pressure to act:

John,

Only 51 Rice’s whales remain on Earth. And Trump just issued them a death sentence.

These whales live only in the Gulf of Mexico: diving deep for food, living in tight communities, and raising their calves in waters they never leave.

Now Trump has stripped away the protections keeping them alive—opening the door to oil and gas drilling in their only home. As tensions with Iran escalate, he’s using fears of energy instability as justification, setting these species up for extinction.

But the Senate committee overseeing this decision still has the power to intervene. If enough of us speak out, they can launch an emergency oversight hearing and stop this dangerous rollback, before it’s too late.

Sign now to demand an emergency hearing and protect the last Rice’s whales.

A rarely used federal panel, nicknamed the “God Squad”, just caved to pressure from Trump, overriding the Endangered Species Act and clearing the way for drilling in one of the most fragile marine habitats on Earth.

Oil and gas lobbyists are already working to lock this in, framing it as “energy security.” But this is about profit, plain and simple—and it sets a dangerous precedent. By tearing through one of the strongest wildlife protections for his oil cronies, Trump is sending a signal worldwide: no species is truly safe.

And this goes beyond just threatening the Rice's whales—it puts the entire marine ecosystem in the Gulf at risk, along with the communities who depend on these waters for their livelihoods, food, and future.

We can’t let him get away with this. If we raise a massive public outcry, we can force the leaders of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee—Chair Shelley Moore Capito and Ranking Member Sheldon Whitehouse—to step in and stop this extinction decision.

Sign now to demand an emergency hearing before the last Rice’s whales are gone forever.

Together, we’ve stopped destructive rollbacks before. We can do it again, before the last Rice’s whales disappear.
