GOP FIXES DEMS’ HISTORIC MESS

After 76 days, Republicans finally ended the Democrat DHS shutdown.

The House on Thursday passed a Senate bill funding most of DHS,
bringing the longest agency shutdown in U.S. history to a close.
Democrats had refused to fund DHS in an attempt to punish ICE and
Border Patrol.

But in the end, they got nothing.

“Democrats got absolutely nothing for their political charade and
shenanigans,” Speaker Mike Johnson said.

This bill restores funding for critical DHS agencies but excludes ICE
and CBP, which Republicans are funding separately through budget
reconciliation.

WHCD SHOOTER’S ABSURD DEFENSE

The accused WHCD gunman just made a remarkable case for his own
release.

Despite the serious charges against him, Cole Allen’s lawyers told a
judge he should be released pending trial because of “his lack of
criminal history” and his “accolades,” like a top-tier
education, work history, and church attendance.

The lawyers even described Allen, who is charged with trying to
assassinate President Trump, as someone who “has always demonstrated
kindness, empathy, and compassion and never violence.”

But his lawyers changed their tune in the courtroom on Thursday,
conceding pre-trial detention. Allen will remain locked up.

RAND PAUL’S CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

Sen. Rand Paul isn’t waiting on the Supreme Court.

Paul introduced a constitutional amendment Thursday to end birthright
citizenship as it is currently practiced, a backup plan in case the
Supreme Court refuses to uphold President Trump’s executive order on
the issue.

“Under current interpretations of American law, anyone born on
American soil automatically becomes a U.S. citizen, regardless of
whether the parent was here legally or not,” Paul posted on X.

“This is wrong and not at all the intent of those who wrote the 14th
Amendment.”

IS TENNESSEE NEXT?

The redistricting fight is heating up.

Following the Supreme Court’s ruling restricting race-based
district-drawing, President Trump announced Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee
will work to redraw the state’s congressional map — potentially
flipping one Democrat seat red.

“This should give us one extra seat, and help Save our Country from
the Radical Left Democrats,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Here’s the kicker: Sen. Marsha Blackburn said a “workable,
defensible map” could deliver all nine of Tennessee’s
congressional seats to Republicans.

TRUMP ECONOMY DEFIES DOOMSAYERS

The Trump economy keeps confounding the experts.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis reported Thursday that Q1 GDP grew at
2% — quadruple the 0.5% growth seen in Q4 of 2025, and well above
the Atlanta Fed’s 1.2% nowcast.

Meanwhile, the Labor Department reported that jobless claims plunged
26,000 to just 189,000 — far below the 214,000 economists expected,
and the lowest weekly figure since September 1969.

Yes, you read that right. Not since Richard Nixon was president have
so few Americans filed for unemployment.
