I just recently learned that under Sharia law, a husband can destroy his marriage with what is called a triple-talaq divorce.
He simply says, writes, emails or even texts three words: “Talaq, talaq, talaq” to his wife and he gains an instant divorce.
Under Sharia law, husbands can pronounce triple-talaq for trivial, impulsive, or emotional reasons.
For example, forgetting salt in food, burning dinner, refusing sex due to illness, arguing back, asking for money, wanting to visit family, giving birth to daughters instead of sons, or even speaking too much.
It can happen in anger, drunkenness, or even in jest.
The husband needs no proof, no witnesses, no arbitration.
He simply communicates the words three times, and the marriage is instantly and irrevocably ended. No warning. No discussion. No court hearing. No recourse. The divorce is immediate and final. Custody of the children goes to the father or his family. The husband is not obligated to provide financial support or any further communication.
A woman under Sharia law may wake up one morning to a three-word text message and be instantly divorced, childless, homeless, penniless.
Granted, this does not happen to all Muslim women. However, just knowing it can happen places all women under Sharia law to live without true personhood, body, mind, and spirit are never fully her own.
Women under Sharia law spend their lives knowing her children and her future can be taken away on a husband’s whim.
This is not ancient history. This is happening right now.
Europe proves this out. Parallel Sharia courts, coerced brides, and battered liberties that politicians are too timid to stop.
American lawmakers must do better. And some are.
The Defeat Sharia Law in America Act, introduced by Senators John Cornyn and Tommy Tuberville, is the main federal legislation designed to stop Sharia law from overriding the U.S. Constitution.
The bill makes it clear that no foreign or religious legal system, including Sharia, can be used in American courts if it violates constitutional rights such as equal protection, due process, or freedom of speech.
Similar efforts are also advancing in the House through the Sharia-Free America Caucus.
At the state level, lawmakers are promoting American Laws for American Courts, a model policy that prevents courts from enforcing foreign laws that conflict with fundamental American rights.
These bills are a direct response to the growing presence of Sharia courts and the threat they pose to women’s rights as provided in the Constitution.
Unbelievably, some members of Congress are throwing insults and aligning themselves with CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), calling concerned Americans “Islamophobes” and “racists” for wanting to protect women and defend the Constitution.
The time when women were treated as less than what our Constitution guarantees must remain in the dusty pages of history.
As Americans, we say clearly and without apology: Ban Sharia Law in the United States of America.

Reports of religious arbitration panels applying Sharia principles have surfaced in American communities in states like Texas and Michigan, with additional concerns raised in Minnesota, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, California, and Illinois.
For many women and girls, this is not an abstract legal debate.
Sharia-based rulings can claim authority over marriages, divorces, and inheritances. And when those rulings are treated as binding inside a community, women can be pressured to accept rules that deny them equal dignity, equal rights, and basic legal protection.
Under Sharia inheritance rules, a daughter can receive only half of what her brother receives. In some family disputes, a woman’s testimony can be treated as worth less than a man’s.
In other cases, husbands can claim broad divorce powers, while wives are left fighting for custody, support, safety, and recourse. Male guardianship customs can give men control over a woman’s work, travel, education, and medical decisions.
And in the most extreme cases, girls can be pushed toward practices such as female genital mutilation and child marriage, practices that leave lifelong wounds and steal childhoods.
These rules are a direct threat to the freedoms and protections American women have fought for generations to secure.
They clash head-on with our Constitution and the Equal Protection Clause, which guarantees every woman and girl the same rights, safety, and voice under the law.
And this is not something America can afford to ignore until it is too late. Across Europe, parallel religious councils have already created painful confusion for women who should have been protected by one clear law.

As we approach our nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026, we stand at a defining crossroads. Nations decay from within when barbarians chew away at the edges, winning small skirmishes and fraying the boundaries of law.
Americans committed to the renewal of freedoms where every person, regardless of background, is truly free and protected under one Constitution, have one choice: Ban Sharia from overriding American law.

We have been taught to cower in the corner of “don’t offend,” terrified of being smeared as “Islamophobe” or “racist.” For too long, faithful Americans have been silenced by these threatening insults and guilt tactics.

Europe ignored the early warnings, and women and girls are paying the heavy price.
Secret Sharia councils in Britain now handle thousands of divorces and routinely deny women equal rights, fair inheritance, and safety from abuse. Parallel societies emerged where fear replaced justice and battered wives had nowhere to turn.
As Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Somali-born woman who is under constant threats for daring to criticize Islam, has warned:
“Sharia law is hostile to women's rights (legally and in the family sphere), religious minorities, religious tolerance, freedom of expression, freedom of association, freedom of conscience, social pluralism, in short, all the values that form the foundation of an open society.”
She has also said:
“A culture that protects women’s rights by law is better than one that mutilates girls, confines them, or denies them alimony and equal inheritance.”
Strong leaders, like Ayaan, are finally fighting back, and they need our whole-hearted support.
In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 1471 in April 2026. This law states that no foreign or religious code, including Sharia, can override constitutional rights or protections for women in Florida courts.
In Texas, Governor Abbott demanded investigations. Attorney General Ken Paxton is taking legal action against the Dallas Islamic Tribunal. He is subpoenaing documents and exposing efforts to impose Sharia over state law and women’s rights.
In Washington, Senators Cornyn and Tuberville introduced the Defeat Sharia Law in America Act to stop Sharia-based discrimination and protect civil rights. A growing Sharia-Free America Caucus in Congress is pushing the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act.
Momentum is shifting. Now it is time for the rest of America to wake up.
As Americans, we demand that Governors and Law-Makers immediately:
- Enforce strong state bans.
- Investigate and dismantle Sharia courts.
- Guarantee one law for all Americans, and
- Defend the Constitution that truly protects every woman and every girl.
Sharia and the U.S. Constitution cannot coexist equally.
One must prevail.
We choose the Constitution.
Every woman and girl in America deserves liberty, equal rights, and real protections.
Ban Sharia Law from overriding American law before July 4.
The American people will not accept second-class citizenship or reduced freedoms for any woman on our own soil.
