Green Party Favors March to Ban Bribery

The Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) has endorsed the March to Ban Bribery which will descend upon Harrisburg in early May. The march was called by activists who want to stop graft in our Commonwealth. The organizers say, “We are marching to demand lawmakers stop billionaire bribes and pass a gift ban.”

GPPA Steering Committee Member Beth Schongar said, "The March to Ban Bribery intends to change the fact that anyone can legally give any gift to PA lawmakers. Bribes mean that regular constituents are priced out of representation. Especially concerning are gifts from petroleum-based companies making us more vulnerable to environmental disasters and childhood deaths."

This year’s March to Ban Bribery will begin on April 30 in Reading (Berks County). It will end with a massive rally in Harrisburg on May 4. Please register here for more information,https://actionnetwork.org/events/march-to-ban-bribery/

Craig Bolton is the Green Party Candidate for PA Lt. Gov.

The Steering Committee of the Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) has chosen Craig Bolton to be its candidate this year for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania. Meeting virtually, the seven-member Steering Committee agreed by consensus to support Bolton, Chair of the Green Party of Philadelphia, to be on the ballot for the General Election on November 3...
Bolton was re-elected chair of the Green Party of Philadelphia on March 24, 2026. He also works with community service groups and lends his unique experience to panels and other discussions on public safety, community affairs, and grassroots political action. Bolton has a master of arts (M.A.) degree in strategic communication and a bachelor of arts (B.A.) in public relations from La Salle University. His professional career spans more than two decades in direct service and nonprofit community membership, arts, and fundraising. Bolton has always had a passion for film and media.

Every four years in Pennsylvania, candidates for governor and lieutenant governor run on the same party line in the General Election, November 3. It comes as no surprise that Dastra’s running mate will come from Philadelphia, which has 1.4 million voters who are not registered with the two corporate parties and who are not permitted to participate in the corporate parties’ Primary Election.

Bucks-Montco Greens Oppose Islamophobia

Meeting virtually on August 24, the Green Party of Bucks County, joined by the Green Party of Montgomery County, decided by consensus to endorse a letter of community opposition to an anti-Islam event in Quakertown, Bucks County. The letter concludes with, “We call on community stakeholders . . . to foster spaces that reflect the best of our shared values: intellectual honesty, compassion, and a commitment to the common good. This includes engaging Muslim voices as partners in dialogue, rather than subjects of scrutiny. Our communities deserve better than narratives that divide. They deserve a future shaped by integrity, empathy, and the courage to imagine coexistence not as a distant ideal, but as a daily practice. We remain committed to that vision and invite all who share it to join us.”
Members of the Green Party of Bucks County then elected their leaders for 2026. David Ochmanowicz was re-elected county chair.

PA STATE-WIDE CAMPAIGN

The Green Party has endorsed two candidates for state-wide office:

Tony Dastra for Governor of Pennsylvania
Tony Dastra told GREEN STAR, “We stand opposed to the expansion of ICE in Pennsylvania. It is time for us to consider its abolition as an agency and to return to more practical strategies which will provide justice for all. We need common sense immigration reform. The Green Party Platform says, ‘The Green Party stands firmly for social justice for all living in this country regardless of immigration status. Above all, policy and law must be humane. Anything less would be inconsistent with our Green Values, and with our nation’s values.’
“My opponents in this year’s election have spun wishy-washy stories...  It is strange to me that neither candidate would make clear their opposition to ICE detention centers. Frankly, it reveals cowardice and trickery, whether they are for or against. I will make it clear that I am opposed to having any ICE detention centers in our Commonwealth. When elected Governor of Pennsylvania, I will prevent the expansion of ICE so that we can prioritize Pennsylvania’s progress instead of wasting our developable land.”

Arizona Green Party Warns of Sham Candidates

The Arizona Green Party (AZGP) is sounding the alarm about three sham candidates running for governor and secretary of state without the party’s blessing. In posts on social media, the AZGP said gubernatorial candidates Risa Lombardo and Lisa Castillo, and secretary of state candidate Duwayne Collier appeared to be Republicans running as Green candidates to split the vote between Republicans and Democrats. The party has raised awareness about the candidates since December, but there’s been more evidence lately suggesting the candidates are affiliated with the Republican Party. STORY HERE

Orban Rule Ended in Hungary

Ciarán Cuffe, Co-Chair of the European Green Party said, “While this result [in Hungary] brings hope, it also demands vigilance. This is a historic result for Hungary, but also for Europe and especially Ukraine which should receive funds blocked by Orbán’s Government...Párbeszéd - A Zöldek Pártja [Dialogue - The Green Party] did not participate in these elections in order to increase the chances of a change of government. Greens remain engaged in Hungary through local leadership, including Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony.
