When I won my first election to Congress in 2018, we shocked a lot of people. Some pundits didn’t think any Democrat could flip a seat in Kansas — especially not an LGBTQ+ Native American woman (and former MMA fighter!) who was raised by a single mom. It’s fair to say that what we did, no one had ever done before. But here’s what I always keep at the front of my mind: Winning an election isn’t the end goal. Yes, it’s a step in the process, but what really matters is what happens after the election: Rallying bipartisan support for the bill you just introduced. Late nights finding ways to secure a little extra funding for the district. Answering constituents’ questions with the truth — not slick, partisan talking points. That’s what folks are voting for when they fill out the little bubble next to my name. So today, I’m asking you to invest in that kind of leadership. Not to win an election just for the sake of winning — but to actually make life better for hard-working folks all across the country. If that mission speaks to you, please use this link to chip in before our End-of-Month fundraising deadline at midnight: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/davids-email-apr26 I’m truly grateful.
