Dear Friend,
An initiative to repeal Idaho’s onerous grocery tax won’t make the November ballot.
The deadline is tomorrow, and sources say the GOP is nowhere near the signature threshold.
It could take up to 60 days before we know whether the abortion and marijuana initiatives will qualify, though we believe they will. We're keeping a watchful eye on both proposals.
But, we know grocery tax repeal will not come before voters.
That’s disappointing.
At a time when prices keep rising and raising a family feels more expensive than ever, we believed this was our opportunity to resolve this issue once and for all.
I’ve shared more detailed thoughts in a new article, and I hope you’ll take a moment to read and share it.
I’ve never been a fan of ballot initiatives. Eliminating them altogether would be better for our state. But the reality of this moment shows conservatives have the numbers and desire to repeal the grocery tax.
What we lack is organization.
The left has built a machine. We haven’t. Yet.
That’s exactly what we’re working to change at Honor Idaho. Our goal is to build the kind of movement that can compete, win, and preserve the state we know and love—not just this year, but for the long term.
I hope you’ll join us in that mission.
Sincerely,
Greg Pruett
President
