Women Making History: Councilwoman Tessa Abeyta Stuve ...

Tessa Abeyta-Stuve is a native New Mexican who was raised in Los Alamos, she is serving her first term in office for Las Cruces City Council.
She has served on numerous boards including the Executive Board of Directors of the Las Cruces Green Chamber of Commerce, Border Servant Corps, and the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of her children’s elementary school.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Johana Bencomo - Woman of the Year, Democratic Leader 

Johana Bencomo is a proud Mexican immigrant, mujerista, community organizer, fronteriza, and justice warrior serving as a Las Cruces City Councilor. Johana proudly joined the Emergista network in 2018.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Marsha Garcia - Woman of the Year, Democratic Leader 


Marsha Garcia is a Latina and a first generation Salvadorian-American; she is also a Combat Veteran and a United States Marine.  Marsha has the honor of currently working with New Mexico’s leading local and statewide advocacy organizations on Reproductive Justice – including expanding access to abortion; she also has the privilege of working with the strong all women team of Delta Consulting Group.  Marsha is also extremely honored to be the Interim Chair of the Board of Directors of Bold Futures, and a member of the Board of Directors of Crossroads For Women.
