Hi,

This Saturday, people across the world will head to their local rivers, lakes, beaches, and waterways for a simple act that can help expose a massive pollution problem hiding in plain sight.

They won't just be holding typical cleanups. They’ll also be searching for plastic pellets.

Plastic pellets, often called nurdles, are the tiny raw building blocks used to make many plastic products. Each year, trillions of these pellets are spilled, leaked, or dumped into our environment during transport.

On Saturday, May 2, communities are uniting for the International Plastic Pellet Count, a global day of action to document this pollution and build the case for stronger accountability and prevention measures. Last year, volunteers at more than 200 sites across 14 countries and 29 U.S. states collected nearly 50,000 pellets from the environment.

This year, we want to go bigger.

Use the EARTHDAY.ORG map to find a participating site near you and join the count. <[link removed]>Counts can take as little as 10 minutes, but the impact is far greater. Every pellet documented helps reveal where pollution is happening and strengthens the push for solutions.

This Earth Day season, our theme is Our Power, Our Planet. Our power means people showing up, gathering evidence, and demanding systems that protect communities and ecosystems instead of polluting them. Our planet needs action grounded in facts and driven by public pressure.

Find a site on our map. Bring friends or family. Take part in a global effort to confront plastic pollution at its source. <[link removed]>

Thank you for standing up for a cleaner, healthier future.
