I wanted to follow up and see if you caught Trump’s blatantly racist and misogynistic tweet about low-income housing “invading” the suburbs, in which he name-dropped me:

This kind of language is deeply disturbing, but it’s not new. Since this country’s founding, access to housing and property ownership has been used against Black and brown communities to hold them back from voting, building wealth, and so much more.

My own parents had to ask a white couple to pose as them just so they could get around redlining in 1969 and purchase their home in a predominantly white suburban neighborhood here in New Jersey. It changed my life forever.

Donaled Trump didn’t invoke my name in his tweet by accident: he knows I’ve spent my time in the U.S. Senate fighting for economic equality and affordable housing for all people – regardless of their race, class, or where they come from.
