The Trump administration is taking deliberate steps to prevent Americans from voting.
Young people, particularly young people of color, know how this feels—new voters and young voters have long faced structural barriers to voting, and in the last decade have faced a barrage of new voter suppression laws designed to make it even more difficult to register to vote and cast a ballot.
The Trump administration’s sabotage of the USPS comes during the deadly COVID-19 pandemic that has already killed over 160,000 people in the United States, and will undoubtedly make it harder for many Americans to cast a ballot in person this November. If unchecked, this move poses a grave threat to our democracy.
