Director of Communications

Dear John xxxxxx,

I am excited to share that on Monday, August 26 National Geographic ([link removed][UNIQID]) will be airing a program that features ARC members. Airing at 7p PT/10p ET, the segment “Surviving Maximum Security: Back Inside” is hosted by CNN correspondent Lisa Ling and includes interviews with ARC members Joshua Pinedo (pictured), Cory Pepper (pictured), David Rodriguez, and Christopherlindsey Salazar. I was also proud to be featured in the segment as ARC’s new Executive Director.

You can find out how to watch here: [link removed][UNIQID].

In 2005, Lisa Ling visited California State Prison, Sacramento for the first time. In Monday’s broadcast, she returns to CSP, Sacramento and the program features the voices of ARC members who were incarcerated when she visited initially. Now home and contributing meaningfully to their communities, they speak powerfully about the criminal justice reforms ARC helped usher into existence and about what prison was like then and now.

We are grateful that their voices are being heard and that a spotlight is being shone brightly upon our work. Including voices of impacted people helps us change the narrative about our formerly incarcerated brothers and sisters, their resilience, and their determination to give back.

Thank you, as well, for helping shine that spotlight through your interest and support of ARC’s work. We are grateful for your partnership and hope that you will tune in Monday to watch with other ARC allies and friends!

Sincerely,

Sam Lewis,
Executive Director
