Each year, we engage a new cohort of enthusiastic and energetic young women, like Munira, with political ambition, organizing skills, and pathways that turn community passion into a launchpad for public office. Since 2016, the Dr. Anne Moses Fellowship program has been a core component of IGNITE’s programming, empowering deeply engaged young women to flex their leadership by organizing their peers.

Fellows receive professional development training and mentorship from the IGNITE National Network, and gain immersive experience as they participate in initiatives that align to their interests and career aspirations.

It’s skills like these that have helped Munira achieve her success in a political career. Munira started the fellowship program with nearly a decade of experience serving as a volunteer youth director for a local nonprofit, but with little experience in political leadership. During the year she spent as our Ohio fellow, she honed her organizing skills, built a strong political network, and gained the confidence she needed to launch her political career.

Since the founding of the fellowship program, IGNITE has engaged 160 fellows across 26 states, with 40% of our fellows going on to serve in policymaking roles. Will you help us support more young women like Munira? ([link removed] )
