John, a devastating Supreme Court decision has just gutted a key part of the Voting Rights Act. This ruling is a direct threat to our democracy and, most critically, to the voting power of Black communities. It empowers Republicans to redraw districts, potentially erasing up to ten majority-Black seats across the South and flipping them from blue to red. This is part of the relentless Republican assault on our fundamental right to vote, fueled by attempts like the “SAVE Act” and the Big Lie about our elections. This decision effectively sides with those who seek to disenfranchise voters and undermine the very fabric of our democracy. The Republican agenda is clear: strip away power from the people, particularly from Black voters – a massive blow to decades of tireless work by so many to gain equal access to the ballot box. We cannot let them win, John.
