The Washington Post: Trump says Postal Service needs money for mail-in voting, but he'll keep blocking funding

Friend, it's all out in the open now.

Donald Trump admitted yesterday in a FOX News interview that he opposes funding for the U.S. Postal Service because he wants to stop mail-in voting.

"Now, they need that money in order to make the Post Office work, so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots, Now, if we don't make a deal, that means they don't get the money. That means they can't have universal mail-in voting, they just can't have it."

Let that sink in: Donald Trump will let the Postal Service go underfunded, exacerbating mailing delays that are affecting the delivery of such essential items as people's medications, so he can rig an election.

This is a disgraceful assault on our democracy. But Jennifer is going to fight it in every way she can.

Our first step is making sure that voters have the information they need to request and promptly cast absentee ballots. And with Trump's misinformation campaign in full swing -- along with potential postal service delays -- our timeline must move up.

We need to raise $10,000 by our mid-month deadline on Sunday to ensure that we can do the necessary voter outreach on schedule. Will you chip in now to help us meet our goal?
