Apology for 'test email' communciation error

Dear John

I am writing in connection with an email you may or may not have received from the email address "[email protected].com quot;dated 12 August 2020 and containing the message “Hi, I tried to add dynamic content, but wasn't able via Assist Edit” with our logo appearing below the message. I sincerely apologise, but this was sent in error by us when testing our new database CRM system which is being created.

I deeply regret this incident occurred and would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by the ‘Test CPRE email’, which was sent out in error.

Please rest assured that this incident has been investigated and I can confirm the email communication was not caused by nor was it due to, an attack on our systems. Your personal data has not been accessed, or exposed to any unauthorised personnel or organisations. I can confirm the email did not contain any malware or suspicious links so, due to the nature of this communications error, you will not need to update any of your personal security information.

I would like to assure you that your personal data continues to be stored in a safe and secure manner. View further information on CPRE’s Data Security Policies and Privacy Policy

CPRE have reported the issue to the Information Commissioners Office, to provide maximum transparency to all parties involved. We are also conducting an internal review of all current IT testing procedures, to ensure an incident of this nature does not occur again.

Kind regards,

Mark Cornish
