Friend — the Trump administration has just announced that it will eliminate federal requirements for oil and gas companies to inspect and repair methane leaks from wells and pipelines.

It's really, really bad. Methane pollution is a major contributor to climate change: Methane is 80 times more powerful than carbon dioxide. And no one was asking for this — even oil and gas companies are opposing the rule change as completely reckless.

There's a short window to stop this from moving forward. We need your help.

We need to be raising hell right now. On top of this new methane proposal, Trump is about to sell off our national land to private mining interests. Drilling leases are set to go out for the Arctic Refuge. He just gutted the Endangered Species Act. We could stop all of it — but only if we act now.

This summer has already seen some of Trump's most egregious attacks on public land. The administration just approved strip mining in Grand Staircase-Escalante national monument. Trump is fast tracking uranium mining operations around both Bears Ears and the Grand Canyon. The administration has classified uranium as a "critical mineral," which loosens permitting restrictions and public review over mining projects.

But some of the worst of these attacks CAN be blocked by Congress — and votes are already being scheduled.
