Hi John,
The legislative short session is officially underway in Raleigh, and we’ve already gotten to work on several key issues. With a tighter timeline, it’s important we stay focused on the priorities that matter most to folks here in Moore and Richmond counties — protecting families, supporting our schools, and making sure government stays accountable to the people.
I’m working alongside my colleagues to push forward common-sense policies that reflect our values and deliver real results. You’ll see some of that work highlighted in this month’s update, along with what we’re doing back home in our area.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to serve you. If there’s ever anything I can do to help, don’t hesitate to reach out.
At your service,
Ben

** PROTECTING PARENTAL RIGHTS IN EDUCATION
------------------------------------------------------------
Parents know what’s best for their children — not politicians. I’m committed to defending parental rights, increasing transparency in our schools, and pushing back against bureaucratic overreach that sidelines families.
That means ensuring parents have full access to curriculum, clear communication from schools, and the ability to make decisions that reflect their values. When we trust parents and keep politics out of the classroom, our students, families, and communities are stronger.
** ELECTED CHAIR OF NC HOUSE FREEDOM CAUCUS
------------------------------------------------------------
I am deeply honored to be elected as Chairman of the N.C. House Freedom Caucus. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Representative Keith Kidwell for his dedication and strong leadership — his work has helped lay a solid foundation for our continued efforts.
I’m also grateful to the members of the Freedom Caucus for their trust and confidence in me to serve in this role. Most importantly, I thank God for the opportunity to lead and to continue serving the people of North Carolina.
I look forward to building on our shared commitment to conservative principles and working together for the good of our state.
** CELEBRATING NATIONAL 2ND AMENDMENT DAY
------------------------------------------------------------
Second Amendment Day is a reminder of the freedoms our country was built on. The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Every American has the right to defend themselves and their families, and I will always fight to protect that right.
** BADGES & BBQ: FOR THE KIDS
------------------------------------------------------------
Really enjoyed cooking last weekend for Badges & BBQ, a program supporting kids in our region. My son and I ended up winning the chicken division but we had to leave for another event before the announcement. Great time had by all for a great cause.
