I just got off the stage after the second debate in this race for governor, and I want to tell you exactly what happened.
This race is coming down to a simple question: who is actually fighting for Californians, and who is trying to buy their way into power?
Californians are getting squeezed from every direction—rent that eats half a paycheck, child care that costs more than a mortgage, and wages that just don’t keep up.
People need solutions, and they deserve to know who’s trying to buy influence in this race.
Tom Steyer has now poured over $144 million of his own money into his campaign. Others are backed by Big Oil and corporate interests that keep costs high for working families across California.
And the Republicans in this race are still pushing Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda—decimating our rights, denying climate science, and doubling down on the same failed policies that hurt everyday Californians.
I’ve built my career on calling this out clearly, directly, and with receipts. When I bring a whiteboard, it’s because people deserve to see exactly who is funding what, and who benefits.
As governor, I’ll do the same.
I don’t take corporate PAC money, I’m not self-funding this campaign, and I’m not here to protect the status quo. I’m here to change it.
The primary is coming fast, and only the top two candidates move on to November. What we do right now will decide whether we have a real chance to win this race and deliver for working families.
