* Recently, a series of reports and investigations ([link removed]) have confirmed serious problems with how public dollars were managed. These investigations stem from my work to demand an Audit of King County DCHS funding years ago.
* Then, a joint report by the County Auditor and Ombuds outlined significant financial risks and made recommendations to strengthen King County’s financial security.
* Now, a forensic review of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) has uncovered significant financial mismanagement of taxpayer dollars.

Friend, as unacceptable as these findings are, they are unfortunately not a bit surprising. I first pointed out the failures of the KCRHA model all the way back in 2019, and wrote an Op-Ed ([link removed]) calling for King County to separate from the failed system years ago.

Enough is enough. That’s why I’ve been leading the charge for real reforms to solve each of the problems mentioned above.
* Recently, the King County Council unanimously passed my legislation to reform our grant funding processes.
* Then, I co-sponsored legislation to create an independent Inspector General Division with the authority to investigate fraud, recover misspent dollars, and finally bring real accountability to county government.
* Now, I’m working to pass legislation to pull King County out of the disastrous KCRHA entirely.

This is my focus: identifying waste, demanding accountability, and making sure government actually delivers results for the people paying for it (YOU).
