As the sixth of seven kids, I learned what my parents preached: relentless work, radical honesty, and to always lift as we climb.

All that hard work paid off when I graduated from Yale. I moved to Colorado to work as an organizer building people-powered campaigns for affordable housing, education equity, and immigrant rights.

Then I was elected as a State Senator in CO, and I established a statewide Office of New Americans, repealed the death penalty in Colorado, and enshrined abortion as a fundamental right.

Throughout my career, I’ve been told that someone like me, with my background and my progressive values, couldn’t win.

Time and again, we’ve proven them wrong. And now, as we take on a Washington insider, like Hickenlooper, they're still trying to underestimate what our people-powered movement can achieve.

But we know the truth: when we come together, we can accomplish what they say is impossible.

That’s how we win, and it’s how we’ll make history this November by electing the first woman to represent Colorado in the U.S. Senate.
