John,
I want to make sure you saw my note from last week (below).
This week, while lives and livelihoods are URGENTLY hanging in the balance, the Senate has decided to leave town with no plan to continue negotiations to deliver the critical relief working families need to get through this crisis.
The Senate needs to act NOW by passing legislation that includes hazard pay for essential workers and direct financial assistance for ALL workers, regardless of status.
Will you take action today? Email your Senator and tell them: #DOYOURJOB and ensure this next relief package includes #CareForAll!
Thanks for all that you do,

Subject: Your Senator Needs to Hear From You Today
John,
More than 25 million Americans have lost their extended unemployment benefits because our elected leaders failed to take action. This interruption in benefits could mean domestic workers are unable to pay their rent, buy food or medicine, or take care of their families. This is unacceptable and action must be taken to ensure families are supported during this crisis.
Will you take action today? Email your Senator and tell them: #DOYOURJOB and ensure this next relief package includes #CareForAll!
The scope of this burgeoning economic crisis is much larger than some of our elected officials are willing to admit: In a survey of domestic workers conducted last month, the overwhelming majority told us that they were experiencing food insecurity, and 86% of respondents are worried about eviction. Furthermore, millions of immigrant workers, many of whom are essential workers on the frontlines of this crisis, were excluded from the first relief packages and are STILL waiting to receive any support. This is unacceptable.
We need our Senators to do their jobs and pass relief that includes all of us. #CareForAll means passing a relief bill that includes:
- Another round of direct financial assistance for ALL workers (no matter their immigration status), and
- Higher wages, also called hazard pay, for workers on the frontlines doing essential work.
This is not just an individual worker or family issue. If people are unable to pay for their basic needs, local businesses and communities will feel the economic impact caused by government inaction. We are experiencing an economic disaster that is being felt in every corner of this country.
The call to action in this moment is clear: the Senate has to act NOW by passing legislation THIS WEEK that includes direct financial assistance for ALL workers, regardless of status.
Thank you for all that you do,
