Folks,

Today is the 85th birthday of our nation’s Social Security program!

Since it was established 85 years ago today, Social Security has always been a promise to our nation’s seniors that they’ll be taken care of.

Today, 22 million people – nearly half of older Americans – are kept out of poverty because of this vital program. Yet, the Trump administration is currently threatening to defund it, along with Medicare.

President Trump wants to gut funding for this successful anti-poverty program, which over 100,000 Mississippians rely on, and our opponent, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, stays silent. You’ll remember that she professes to be “with” the president “100% of the time.”

What Cindy Hyde-Smith refuses to do is help struggling Americans during the middle of this pandemic. Congress must invest more in anti-poverty programs like Social Security and Medicaid — not rip them away.

It is critical that we fight back against attempts to dismantle these programs for our kids and grandkids – and if I’m elected to be your next U.S. Senator on November 3, that’s exactly what I intend to do in Washington.

If you want a leader who is ready and willing to fight to protect vital anti-poverty programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, please chip in a contribution or $10 to support my campaign today.

With your support, I can be in the U.S. Senate on Social Security’s 86th birthday, where I’ll keep fighting to protect it. I will never be silent when it comes to caring for our seniors.
