According to The Hill, a recent poll from the Bangor Daily News shows challenger Sara Gideon leading GOP incumbent Susan Collins by eight points in the Maine Senate race.

However, Gideon's sizable advantage shrunk when likely voters were polled. Among those voters, Gideon's lead is only 5 percent -- near the poll's margin of error.

Collins and the GOP will do everything they can to keep her grip on this seat. And if Collins wins, the GOP will almost certainly keep control of the Senate. That's why top Republican outside groups have already spent $10 million to attack Gideon, and will spend millions more to protect Collins' seat in the coming months.

The GOP is also trying to suppress the vote. In 2016, Mitch McConnell was given back control of the Senate because 100 million voters stayed home on Election Day. This year, the GOP has undermined USPS's mail delivery -- in an effort to destroy mail-in voting and hand the Senate back to McConnell.

This can't happen again. We need voters like you to show up to the polls in November -- so we can oust Mitch McConnell from power.
