The latest headlines from Washington, D.C. are encouraging:

“Speaker Mike Johnson’s week just started and it’s already falling apart.”

Johnson didn’t figure he’d get this much resistance from his own party over government spying.

But thanks to the pressure from patriots like you, he’s wringing his hands over the pending expiration of FISA Section 702 in just a few days.

The reality is that if he can’t get a long-term renewal through by tomorrow, the House will likely pass another short extension to buy themselves time to twist arms and make deals.

But right now, the danger lies in the deals Johnson and his cronies are going to cut in order to ram a long-term renewal through.

Republicans are trying to tack on amendments to the bill . . . amendments that might be good on their own but not necessarily related to FISA and government spying.

It all boils down to one thing:

No warrant requirement? NO DEAL!

Right now, our best hope is to kill this in the Rules Committee which was supposed to vote last night.

But because of your pressure, the vote was pushed to today . . . and it’s since been delayed.

Which is why you and I need to keep up the pressure!

There are three Republican members of the Rules Committee who have expressed concerns about a renewal of FISA without a warrant requirement.

Now it’s time to make sure these three know “No warrant requirement in 702 renewal? NO DEAL!”
